Tampa Attractions are attractive to Tampa Bay residents
Looking around Tampa, Florida you will not have much difficulty in find things to do with your family. Tampa Bay has tons of attractions for people of different age groups, and to be bored will really take a lot of effort.
First, let us start with the free and cheap thing to do. Families are with in driving distance to the beautiful beaches of Tampa Bay. There you can have fun building sand castles, and swimming in the ocean. Tampa Bay is home to fort Desoto Park, which was voted the best beach in North America by Dr. Beach in 2005.
Families can also visit Kid city in Tamp Florida for free on every first Friday of the month. Kid City is home to a little kid sized mini-village where kids can pretend to work at a fire station, bank, supermarket, and many other businesses.
Residents in Tampa also have the privilege of having two major theme parks in their backyard. Tampa's Busch Gardens and Adventure Island is located in the city of Tampa and has tons of rides and events for children and adults. Busch Gardens has roller coasters that will have even the bravest of men let out a scream. There are also animal exhibits and live performance throughout the day. The Land of the Dragon is an area specifically designed for young children that has little child sized rides.
Adventure Island, which is located just across the street from Busch Gardens, has fun water rides and slides. Younger children will also enjoy the splash area and smaller pools. For those that need a little dry area there is also a volleyball court.
When you are looking for fun things to do in Tampa, you should not forget the museums, aquariums and zoos. In the middle of Tampa is Lowry Park Zoo. Along the bay is the Florida Aquarium. Located in north Tampa is the Museum of Science and Industry, MOSI. MOSI has tons of exhibits on the human body, the solar system, mechanics, and more. On the MOSI campus there is a full equipped IMAX theater that shows movies throughout the year. MOSI also has a Kids In Charge, and building that houses science exhibits geared specifically towards young children.
